In Memory of Cecil The Lion

In Memory of Cecil The Lion

Cecil the Lion, a prized lion and a national icon of Zimbabwe, was poached and killed this week by Walter Palmer, a dentist from Minneapolis, MN according to multiple media reports.

A petition requesting the extradition of Walter Palmer to the African nation to face justice needed to receive 100,000 signatures by August 27 to get a response from the Administration. It has far exceeded this requirement.

"We urge the Secretary of State John Kerry and the Attorney General Loretta Lynch to fully cooperate with the Zimbabwe authorities and to extradite Walter Palmer promptly at the Zimbabwe government's request," the petition says.
Despite the international outrage Palmer is nowhere to be found according to news reports.
Although probably only symbolic, if you are in the U.S., sign the petition to show your outrage at the continuing pouching and killing of wild animal. It is appalling and should be illegal. And yet it is not and people like Palmer considers killing a 'sport'.

here is the petition:

Stylish Drinks for Summer Nights: Mojitos my way

August is just around the corner and with heat and humidity rising up we got to get ready
for those steamy August evenings and nights, right!. And my answer to that --
well ... it is a great Mojito. Yep! Ask anyone from Miami or Cuba or Puerto Rico and you will
universally get an approving nod.

Amazing Photos

Full Disclosure: this post has nothing to do with fashion or interior design or anything work-related. Since I couldn't go swimming today I had to resort to a virtual substitute: surf the Instagram. I know, I know, it is pathetic but putting that aside -- I sure found photos that were worth the time in front of the computer:

Five Ways to Wear a Denim Blazer

I love denim and what is there not to love. It is versatile, comfy, and always in style. One thing I am particularly drawn to this summer is denim blazers. They have had an in-vogue rebirth from the 80s and 90s this year and are as cool as ever.

Here are some ideas on how to style a denim blazer for pretty much any occasion:

Summer Wedding Guest Attire: To Blush or Not

Seems like almost daily, (OK not daily, but boy it feels that way) I am getting an email or a call about a wedding invite. Don’t get me wrong I love attending weddings of friends and family as the next girl but this summer has been crazy. Hurray for love!!!

So here I am again -- looking for a new look that I can use on more than one occasion. The ceremony coming up is going to be a grand affair so, I am looking for a more demure, feminine, and classy look to match the occasion.

And I found it: Soft Blush Monotone Pants Suit!!!

Get the Boho Beach Godess Look for Less

It is summer and Boho is all the rage, right?! And why not! It is the quintessential sex-appeal drenched summer style that lets you show off what you got ... From sexy sundresses, booty shorts, crop tops, and off the shoulder numbers, it is all about bare skin and toned bodies. I admit, I am all in for Boho.

New Wave Glam: dress up your flats

New wave glam

I am experimenting with a trend that has fascinated me for a while: dressy looks with summer sandals. Granted, this one is a bit extreme but it drives the point that nothing is taboo this season. Hurray for braking-away-from-convention fashion!!!

Futurism meets functionality: the Human Furniture Collection by Dzmitry Samal

I am truly fascinated by the“Human furniture collection” of Belorussian-born designer Dzmitry Samal. It is an amazing fusion of industrial style decor and classical sculpture. The clean and simple geometric shapes morphed with the sculptural beauty of a male human body creates a startling impression, to say the least.
