Rebel with a cause: Not your Granny's jeans

SS2016 trends: radical denim

True, there is nothing more 'ordinary' or 'everyday-casual' than denim. We all go there time and time again. But for the last few seasons young and established designers alike are turning to yes! denim to make a point that there is nothing 'ordinary' in RADICAL DENIM.
I love it and can't get enough of it. And this February at #NYFW Ms. Claudia Li delivered what is in my opinion the nailed-it! statement for this trend:

Now, if I could I would wear Ms. Li's creations every day but I can't, so after seeing the collection I did the next best thing: I asked my friends at BROKEtheINTERNET Polyvore Group to take a crack on this trend and give their take on #RadicalDenim for everyday life.

WOW!  What a feast for the eyes .... (if you have not visited this blog before or you are not familiar with polyvore contests check out our inaugural contest here). You have to take a look at those 149 sets ... pssst! those sets are all stoppable ...

But as with any contest I had to chose the winners. So here there are in their full glory: Go denim! Go...

First Place:

radical denim

Second Place:

Radical Denim

Third Place:

TrickyTrend : Dress & Pants...

MANGO light wash jeans, $23 / Aquazzura fringe sandals, $695 / Edie Parker blue handbag

Those three collages are perfection! and they capture the essence of  the trend -- you make it eclectic and edgy to the extent you are comfortable and to match your personal style. But this post is about the contest so here are the rest of our 12 winners

4th Place:

Bez naslova #215

5th Place:

LogoMania!!!

6th Place:

Pack and Go: London

7th Place:

Cropped Flares

8th Place:

9th Place:

10th Place:

Layered in SoCal | Trust Kisha

11th Place:

Denim Dress

12th Place

Paper mind.

White t shirt / Jean jacket, $150 / Denim skirt / Abercrombie Fitch leopard flat / Handbags purse / JFR choker necklace, $16

Thank you Girls for your amazing submissions. Each and everyone is spectacular and I went back and forth with the selections a million time ... Hmm maybe that is the reason that it took me three days to post the results of the contest. Sorry about that, but in my defense you make it impossible to judge fast. THANK YOU.

But I am not finished -- here are our three runners-up:

In the BROKEtheINTERNET contests I also select a winning set in three additional categories (well this will be the section for the polyvore equivalent of teckies )

I know that this is the most subjective aspect of my contests, but I just can't get my eyes off this one. @bonadea007 you rock, baby.
