CowPunk revival: Fausto Puglisi Spring 2016 Collection

This year I have been obsessed with Fausto Puglisi's designs (some of my styling are here, here, here and here) so, not surprisingly I have to vote for his #MFW #SS2016 catwalk presentation as the it show in Milan. Against the backdrop of some spectacular shows he still managed to steal the spotlight with a show that blended effortlessly cow punk with Gianni Versace's 80s beloved pop culture sensations.

Mr. Puglisi's Spring 2016 collection was as always  brazen and full of  sex appeal but he softened the feel with probably the best take on roman goddess's dress I have seen in a while:

What can I say the man knows how to make cowboy boots look feminine and fit for a royal gala!

Very prominent again were Puglisi's staples, intricate embroideries  and masterful color blocking, but the colors were softer and more demure. Except of course for those amazing tailored jackets hmm dresses. I grasped when I saw the first one, it was really an instant flashback to Versace's best shows:

 #Puglisi really is punk rock equivalent in the world of fashion. Since arriving on the #MilanFashionWeek scene three years ago he has broken the chains of pretentiousness and has injected a much needed youthful exuberance and zeal into high fashion.

As a designer he is bold, loud, unapologetic, and crude. No surprise that in the world of couture he is now the embodiment of street style and rock star theatrics.

Now don't get me wrong I love the effortless elegance of Nina Richi and Carolina Herrera, but Puglisi brings a different dimension to modern femininity that has mostly been gone since #GianniVersace's untimely death.

Not surprisingly #Puglisi's designs are the darlings of your A-listers, especially the flashy variety ones that love the spotlight and cover as much as they absolutely have to.
