I don't know why exactly but anytime I look for a fall closet update I find myself looking (and going for) lady-like pieces. Maybe it is the ingrained idea of the harvest time or simply the fact that with the temperatures dropping down it is the first opportunity to ditch the flip-flops and the caftans (and the likes of the fav summer garb) and slip into a more refined attire that makes you want to be in a mile-high stilettos. No matter what this fall I am going for an old and trusted go-to: the camel-colored coat. Yes, I know it is a cliche and a prop for wanna-be socialstatus seekers but truth be told there is no more flattering and versatile cover-up on a crisp day. Pair it with a statement bag and YES! this year to-dies-for ankle boots and ... you are set.

The Good news is that this year you can find camel coats in every price range. But if you want to invest in one piece and one piece only -- this type of a coat is your best bet. It never goes out of style and there is nothing that gives you an instant glam up as a quality camel coat. Face it! there is a reason why this particular staple has been sported up and down on the French and Italian Riviera for the last 90 years time and time again: it works.
