of the other kind of storm -- the sandy type -- that we had in 2014). There will be some awesome musical acts but this post is not about that. Predictably I will focus on the style aspect of the event. Now if you are going to be at the Polo grounds in Indio you probably have had all your outfits planed months ago, after all it is Coachella!, baby! But in case you haven't done so yet or you are going to be there just in spirit, here are the elements to pull the perfect festival look. Yes, we will be wearing those babies well past the end of April and outside of Coachella...
1. The Peasant Top
You know those pictures of Sofia Loren and Brigit Bardot channeling the quintessential bohemian and/or Mediterranean sex-appeal of the 60s and 70s -- well, can't get there without the peasant top. I am partial to the floral varieties but they come in all forms and shapes and prices. For a day out in the sun -- and especially in the desert sun -- I would stay away from the bare shoulders type, but it is a tough temptation to resist. Stay away from cheap synthetic materials, silk, chiffon, cotton, and other natural fibers and light belnds will keep you cool and drier (no! at 95F and dancing you are due for some sweating ...)

2. The shorts
This spring I like two extremes, the uber deconstructed denim and the exoticism inspired type with all the tassels and fringe that comes with it.

3. The Killer DressWell, the festival look is all about portraying the ultimate non-nonchalant look and attitude but only on the surface. Let's face it! It is all about a statement, and then the louder it is -- the better.

Now you cannot go to the desert or for that matter, to any vacation destination without the proper accessories, right. First, you have to get those shoes ...
My new found favorite brand is Mabu by Maria Bk. It just screams Coachella'16 ...
Ahhh, aren't those sandals just amazing.
Two more thing to put in your suitcase, the proper hat and the darkest shade of sunnies you have. You will need both, trust me.
